Can You Play Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) on PS5?

In 2021, during a Q&A in a public school, Gabe Newell teased Valve games coming to consoles “You will have a better idea of that by the end of this year,” Given this quote is now four years old and we have no new console games, it’s likely this isn’t going to happen or that whatever it was isn’t coming now.

Given the time of the quote, it could well have been CS2. The next game released by Valve was Deadlock, their take on the popular Hero Shooter genre, an ideal game for consoles, but for now, it is also just on PC.

It’s also worth noting that the input not being a mouse and keyboard would be a huge development headache for Valve and would force PC and console to be separated. Valve could force the use of a mouse and keyboard on console, but the availability of those isn’t wide enough, and CS2 probably isn’t the game to break that glass ceiling.
