RED Canids has revealed the addition of André ‘drop’ Abreu, who will succeed Marcelo ‘nyezin’ Ramos and assume the captaincy of the team.
The outgoing player, ‘nyezin’, will have his loan contract ended and will return to paiN. ‘Drop’ comes on board after establishing himself as an anchor for FURIA from 2021 to 2023, and later spending most of the last two years with MIBR.
The 21-year-old gained experience as an in-game leader during the latter part of his tenure with MIBR, leading the team to a top-four placement at EPL Season 20 shortly after assuming leadership. He also assisted the squad in reaching the Elimination Stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major, where they fell just short of securing a playoff spot.
In general, MIBR struggled to improve after drop took over as the in-game leader, especially in international tournaments where they frequently encountered early eliminations. After a frustrating beginning to 2025, during which MIBR was knocked out early from BLAST Bounty, IEM Katowice Stage 1, and PGL Cluj-Napoca, drop asked to be placed on the bench.
