Following Vitality’s win over G2 at the BLAST.tv Paris Major RMR, BLIX sat down with Vitality and Astralis legend Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen to discuss being an esports professional after having a child, how it feels to be the only player to qualify to every Major and his feelings about CS2.
Hugo “TheSwedishJoker” Nilsson Meier, BLIX: So, youâve recently become a father. How has life changed for you as a CS:GO player? Have the routines changed now that you have a kid?
Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen: Not that much, not in terms of the team. The only thing that changed is I get up a lot earlier so I will put up a lot of my individual hours early in the day, between 6 and 9 in the morning. I think thatâs the whole thing, other than that I donât think anything changed. Iâm still going to all the tournaments and my girlfriend at home is taking care of our kid, so it wouldnât be possible without her.
BLIX: Youâre the only CS:GO player to have competed at all of the Majors. Knowing this will be the last CS:GO Major, do you feel a bit sentimental coming into it?
dupreeh: Both yes and no, obviously it means a lot to me to be the only player to have played all nineteen but itâs not something Iâve put too much heart into. Now that Iâve gotten it, yes, Iâm really proud of it, but itâs not something I focused on doing and achieving or anything. Being the last Major in CS:GO, itâs been a really long career for me and Iâve been playing them all, thatâs very unique. In some sense itâs sad but itâs also exciting that weâre going to have Counter-Strike 2 because CS:GO has been the game Iâve had all of my career.
BLIX: CS2 will not be released until this summer, but have you had any chance to try the beta yet?
dupreeh: I played a couple of hours on the beta but thatâs all Iâve done. I was more focused on obviously preparing for the Major and the RMR here, so thatâs what my full focus was on, and weâll see what happens after the summer.
BLIX: Will we see you still competing in CS2, after Paris?
Dupreeh: I hope so! Thatâs what I wish for and then weâll see what happens. Iâm not quite sure if I will continue my career in CS2, it depends on how things turn out.
