Despite 7 slots available for the PW Shanghai Major Americas RMR, I’m expecting a hard battle as the participants’ lineup looks quite decent. MR12 best-of-1 gives a big gap for upsets and various results, and I’m here with a hot take that BESTIA will surprise many and will be fighting for the Shanghai Major spot hard.
Upward trajectory
In a bit more than the past month BESTIA have shown decent results and a consistent performance as a team.
- 2nd place at CBCS Masters 2024 Finals;
- 3rd place in ESL Challenger SA League, losing in a close battle to MIBR.
- Playoffs qualification in Thunderpick World Championship 2024.
If BESTIA manage to show the same level at the Shanghai RMR, their opponents are in danger.
Comfortable mappool
First of all, BESTIA don’t play Vertigo which is a huge advantage for them if we talk about the current Americas RMR.
There are teams that either ban Vertigo or play it on not the worst level.
Secondly, BESTIA feel comfortable on Ancient, Mirage and Inferno, also they are kind of annoying team if we talk about Anubis – that’s more than enough for them to be an extremely dangerous opponent in bo1. Obviously, could be harder for them in bo3, but still, they have a pretty consistent mappool.
Decent entry fragging potential
It depends on a map and how the game goes, a playstyle of an opponent if we talk about BESTIA T-side performance.
What makes them strong is a variety of tools and the success in openings duels they have when playing CT-side, they’ve been consistently good in it.
More important is that they are usually good in converting those 5v4s into successful rounds. If they got an early advantage in the round, they try to be careful and value an advantage high.
Confidence boost
I like when teams play with confidence, that’s the basement of consistent performance and success in Counter-Strike both for players and teams. With the recent results of BESTIA they have started to build the confidence playing against higher level teams which is important when you play RMR – it’s do or die, not much to say more.
With all those factors combined i believe BESTIA will be biggest positive surprise of the Shanghai Major Americas RMR.
