Aurora has revealed the surprising acquisition of the complete Eternal Fire team along with coach Sezgin ‘Fabre’ Kalaycı after putting their mostly Russian roster on the bench earlier on Saturday.
The announcement marks the conclusion of the team’s time with the Turkish organization, which started in 2021 when Eternal Fire joined CS with a roster led by Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş. The 29-year-old star remained with the team for more than three and a half years, contributing to their achievement as the first Turkish squad to compete in a Big Event final and make it to the Major playoffs.
The Turkish squad has consistently been a presence in top-tier playoffs since they brought on Samet ‘jottAAA’ Köklü during the winter offseason. Throughout their hectic tournament schedule, Engin ‘MAJ3R’ Küpeli’s team participated in five straight playoffs, ensuring their spot for an Austin Major Stage 3 invitation.
Although they have not yet resolved their issues with performing in arenas, as they have yet to achieve a victory in front of an audience, the Turkish team demonstrated that they deserve a place among the elite in the scene and have climbed into the top five of HLTV and Valve’s world rankings.
