Vitality is poised to announce Robin ‘ropz’ Kool as their latest addition, according to independent journalist Guillaume ‘neL’ Rathier. The Estonian player has reportedly settled on personal terms with the French organization, and the transfer is anticipated to be completed shortly.
‘ropz’ is set to join Vitality on a free transfer after his contract with FaZe comes to an end. He joined the North American organization in January 2022 after spending nearly five years with MOUZ, reuniting with his previous captain, Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen.
ropz’s joining is expected to open the door for Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi’s exit. The Israeli rifler, who was signed from ENCE in August 2022, has been frequently associated with seeking a new opportunity, with head coach Rémy ‘XTQZZZ’ Quoniam disclosing in August that the player had requested to look into his options prior to the summer break.
‘ropz’ had a prosperous initial two years with FaZe, securing seven LAN championships (which included the Antwerp Major) and an Intel Grand Slam title. He achieved his highest placements in the HLTV Player Top 20, finishing eighth in 2022 and third in 2023.
FaZe concluded 2023 with their inaugural roster change in almost two years, adding David ‘frozen’ Čerňanský, another player from MOUZ, to occupy the position left by Russel ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken.
The squad was unable to achieve the same level of success in 2024, securing just one championship (IEM Chengdu) and coming in second place at IEM Katowice, as well as the Copenhagen and Shanghai Majors.
‘ropz’ delivered some of his finest Counter-Strike performances this year during the Shanghai Major, recording an impressive team-high rating of 1.21. His exit creates a significant gap for FaZe to address and intensifies concerns regarding the roster for 2025 following a year marked by unsatisfactory outcomes.
