Sangal has shared the news of Dawid ‘SaMey’ Stańczak’s exit, concluding the Polish sniper’s seven-month tenure with the organization.
The change in the roster follows Sangal’s disappointing performance at Europe RMR B for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, where they failed to meet expectations as potential dark horses for the Major, exiting with low single-digit round scores against MOUZ, Cloud9, and ECLOT.
The squad struggled to bounce back mentally from their devastating best-of-one losses and failed to perform at the level that Sangal had shown prior to the RMR, where they secured three online CCT titles and participated in both ESL Pro League S20 and RES Regional Champions.
‘SaMey’ came to Sangal from ex-Anonymo in May and achieved an average rating of 1.02 across 192 maps during his time there, but his performance noticeably declined during LAN events (0.88 over 27 maps) and especially against teams ranked in the top 20 (0.81 over 13 maps).
The Pole’s exit might not be the sole alteration for Sangal during the off-season, as speculation about Samet ‘jottAAA’ Köklü’s status with the team circulates. The Turkish player is currently on loan from Eternal Fire, which faced an early exit in the RMR and could consider making changes, while there are also rumors in the Turkish scene connecting him to interest from G2.
