BIG has officially announced the decision to bench Florian ‘syrsoN’ Rische, marking a significant change in their roster. This move comes as the team seeks to re-evaluate their strategies and performance moving forward.
A prior announcement from the German squad mentioned that they were “exploring various potential options for the future” concerning ’syrsoN’ as his contract was nearing its conclusion. Just nine days later, they have decided on a future that does not include their 28-year-old sniper.
This is the second transaction BIG has made during the off-season, following the release of Rigon ‘rigoN’ Gashi on December 21.
Academy graduate Marcel ‘hyped’ Köhn has returned from his loan period with ALTERNATE aTTaX and is set to take over the role of primary AWPer from ’syrsoN’, a position he previously held in the main roster from February to June of 2023.
rigoN’s successor is currently uncertain, but there are unauthenticated reports suggesting a connection to fnatic’s sidelined rifler, Can ‘kyuubii’ Ali.
syrsoN’s comeback to BIG in February marked a shift back to German communication, yet he didn’t manage to reach the same level of success he had during the pandemic, when he ranked No. 10 on the predominantly online top 20 players of 2020 list.
Even the comeback of Tobias ‘tow b’ Herberhold as a performance coach in July, who was the head coach during those previous years, failed to spark his performance, and ‘syrsoN’ finished his final three months with BIG having a 0.99 rating.
