Complexity has announced that they have terminated the contract of head coach Tiaan ‘T.C.’ Coertzen, concluding a lengthy relationship with the 32-year-old.
The choice follows a poor beginning to the season, where Complexity secured victory in only one of their initial six LAN matches.
The North American squad, which parted ways with star player Jonathan ‘EliGE’ Jablonowski and placed Ricky ‘floppy’ Kemery on the bench at the conclusion of the previous season, is now positioned at 25th in Valve’s global rankings, a drop from 15th at the beginning of the year.
T.C. joined Complexity in January 2022, when the North American team formed a new lineup incorporating members from Extra Salt. He significantly led Complexity to victory at the ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024 and to the finals of IEM Sydney 2023.
Just hours before the news of T.c’s exit was revealed, Complexity secured a 2-0 victory against Aether in their opening match of the North American closed qualifier for PGL Bucharest. The squad is scheduled to compete again on Thursday, where they will encounter Take Flyte in the upper bracket semi-final of Group B.
