After the ESL Challenger Atlanta closed qualifier concludes, Adam ‘WolfY’ Andersson and Danny ‘cxzi’ Strzelczyk will be departing from Party Astronauts in search of new opportunities.
The announcement of the duo’s upcoming departure surfaced shortly after Party Astronauts faced difficulties in the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR North America closed qualifier just a day prior.
The team made a strong start by convincingly beating Phoenix in their first best-of-one match but narrowly lost 13-16 to Nouns in their second match. Unfortunately, their performance took a downturn in the elimination series against FLUFFY AIMERS, as they only managed to win nine rounds across two maps.
Both ‘cxzi’ and ‘WolfY’ joined Party Astronauts at the end of 2023 and played crucial roles in helping the team qualify for ESL Challenger events in Melbourne and Jönköping. However, despite their efforts, the team faced challenges in making a solid impact against international competitors during these offline appearances.
Party Astronauts have consistently fought against other tier-two North American teams such as NRG, Wildcard, Nouns, M80, and themselves in the domestic scene. However, they have been struggling to consistently secure top positions, with their failure in the RMR being a major setback for them.
