    Fathom Skills Overview

Fathom possesses four active skills and one passive ability, each with its unique specialties. Let’s explore how they function and their potential applications.

    Scalding Spray (1st Ability)

It is a simple and practical skill that deals area damage. Its unique feature provides a 7% increase in bullet damage, making it useful for building melee damage-focused builds.

    • Ability Range: 12m
    • Duration: 3
    • Charges :1
    • Charges Cooldown: 8s
    • DPS: 40 x 0.4 (Spirit)
    • Weapon Damage Gain Per Sec: 7%
    • Bonus Duration: 12s
    • Ability Points:
    • 1: -15s Cooldown
    • 2: +2s Duration
    • 5: +45 DPS
    • Cooldown: 40s

    Breach (2nd Ability)

This skill allows Fathom to jump, creating a surprise effect on enemies and confusing them. It is not an attacking skill, but an auxiliary skill for mobility and enemy control.

    • Cast Range: 20m
    • Damage: 80 x 0.7 (Spirit)
    • Ability Points:
    • 1: +3m Explosion Radius
    • 2: -8s Cooldown
    • 5: +120 Damage
    • Cooldown: 22s

    Fathom Bloodletting (3rd Ability)

Similar to another character’s (Shiv) ability, but will likely be tweaked in the future. It allows you to deal damage and weaken enemies, making Fathom a dangerous opponent at any stage of the game.

    • Incoming Damage Deferred: 22%
    • Deferred Damage Duration: 13s
    • Deferred Damage Cleared: 40%
    • Ability Points:
    • 1: +8% Incoming Damage Deferred
    • 2: -25s Cooldown
    • 5: +25% Deferred Damage Cleared
    • Cooldown: 50s

    Reefdweller Harpoon (Ultimate Ability)

Harpoon enables Fathom to “adhere” to a wall, becoming invisible and invulnerable while enemies are not looking at him. This ability is useful for tactical evasion, despite its apparent limitations.

    • Cast Range: 30m
    • Max Health Regen: 3%
    • Ability Points:
    • 1: -15s Cooldown
    • 2: +5m Cast Range
    • 5: +2% Max Health Regen
    • Cooldown: 50s

    Passive Ability

Fathom can regenerate health outside of combat, enhancing his resilience during longer stages of the game, where he can recuperate before engaging in new battles.

Optimal Item Build for the Dominant Game

    Deadlock hero: Fathom

We suggest this build to optimize performance in the game. It offers a balance between survivability and damage output.

    Laning Stage

At the beginning of the game, buy melee and stamina items. This will enable you to confidently stand your ground, face enemies, and gather resources.

    Deadlock: Fathom Laning Stage Items

    Early Stage of the Game

First, purchase Quicksilver Reload and integrate it with the first skill for increased damage. Then, add Bullet Lifesteal for survivability and implement Slowing Bullets to control enemies. Be sure to buy Bullet Armor to protect yourself from physical damage dealt by enemies.

Deadlock: Fathom Early Stage of the Game Items

    Mid Stage of the Game

Point Blank and Headhunter are essential at this stage, as they significantly boost your damage. Superior Stamina is also crucial, as it provides additional advantages in team battles.

Deadlock: Fathom Mid Stage of the Game Items

    Late Stage of the Game

At this point, you should focus on increasing your damage. Acquire the Lucky Shot and Glass Cannon items; these will enhance your damage potential and help you finish the game more quickly.

How to Use Abilities in Fights

The Blix team has identified the best combinations of abilities to fully use this character’s potential.

    Initiation of Fight

Start with Breach for a surprise attack. Jump up and activate Bloodletting, then use Scalding Spray to begin dealing damage to the enemy.

    Combo Attacks

The primary strategy is to activate the first skillet indefinitely to maximize its damage. Quicksilver Reload ensures a continuous stream of area damage.

Using Ultimate to Exit the Battle

Activate the Reefdweller Harpoon and take cover on a wall if the situation escalates. Although enemies may see you, this will give you enough time to either escape the danger zone or regroup with your team.

    Disarm for enemy control

If you have a Silencer, make sure to activate it. This skill confuses enemies and helps avoid counter damage. It’s important to note that Fathom has a long cooldown period, but he can still shoot during this time, making him a formidable opponent even when his abilities are unavailable.

    Conclusion

Fathom is a hero who excels in mobility, damage output, and unique survival abilities, particularly in team fights. If you want to dominate the Deadlock arena, mastering Fathom is essential. Recent trends indicate that newly introduced characters tend to be more powerful upon release, making Fathom an excellent choice for early-stage victories. With practice and study, Fathom can lead you to numerous successes! For more content related to Deadlock, we recommend visiting the Reddit thread.
