The Group Stage at BLAST Slam IV is finally over and we know the names of the Dota 2 teams that are advancing forward and those that will be heading into the deadly Play-In stage. We had three days of epic matches, so here’s a quick recap of everything.
The Winners
After the matches came to an end, Tundra Esports and Team Falcons reigned supreme because the two occupied the first two sports in the group. Both ended with 9 victories and just 2 losses, which puts them in a league of their own. Their success allows them to advance directly to the semifinals, which is where they will meet some of their opponents.
Speaking of the devil, here are the remaining teams that will go to the Play-In stage:
- Team Spirit
- HEROIC
- MOUZ
- Aurora Gaming
- Natus Vincere
- Team Aureus
Spirit, HEROIC and MOUZ performed better than the rest and had hardly any problems. However, the same can’t be said about Aurora Gaming and Team Aures. The two barely made it out alive, but in the end, they had better results than Liquid and BB Team and will skip the Last Chance match.
The Losers
After all matches at BLAST Slam IV came to an end, Yakult Brothers, Execration, Team Liquid and BetBoom Team were eliminated from the tournament. YB were definitely the team that disappointed us the most because they only won one match and scored 9 losses. It seems like the team really needs to get back to the drawing board and come up with something new.
The same is true for Execration, even though the SEA squad won two games. The only reason this team got a slot in the first place was that the tournament itself is held in Singapore, which is in Southeast Asia.
In terms of Team Liquid and BetBoom Team, they were definitely the two big surprises. People expected more from both (especially Liquid following its recent roster changes) but it seems like the team still has problems. The good news is that it is not all over for the two because they still have a chance to reach the next stage.
Play-In
Now that the Group Stage at BLAST Slam IV is over, it is time for the Play-In stage and we have some epic matches ahead of us.
The action will kick off with the Last Chance Playoffs, where Team Liquid will face Yakult Brother, and BetBoom Team will play against Execration. After that, we have the Play-In itself and the MOUZ vs Team Aureus and Aurora Gaming vs Natus Vincere.
We expect to see an epic clash, so don’t forget to follow us for more information.
