One of the first big tournaments of 2025 is finally over, so it is time for our DreamLeague Season 25 meta-analysis. Surprisingly, DreamLeague Season 25 turned out to be a lot more interesting than expected because of the DDOS attacks that postponed the Grand Final. On top of that, Dota 2 patch 7.38 arrived in the middle of it and brought tons of changes.

Speaking of changes, it is very interesting to see how everything new affected the top picks and bans, as well as the most and least successful heroes. That’s why it’s time to check all of the stats.

    DreamLeague Season 25 Meta Analysis

It’s always fun to see which were some of the most and least popular heroes following a given event, so let’s dive in. Keep in mind that we’ll only include heroes with more than 10 games.

    Most Picked Heroes

Jakiro won the prize for the most picked Dota 2 hero at DreamLeague Season 25. The deadly support appeared in 56 matches and achieved a 50% win rate. This is probably not surprising because Jakiro received big buffs in 7.38 and became one of the best supports.

Speaking of being the best, this is one of the reasons why 7.38b nerfed some of his abilities. While it is true that Jakiro is still a viable option, the support is in a slightly worse position than before.

The second most popular pick at DL S25 is Warlock. The support appeared in 54 games and secured a 46% win rate. Overall, Warlock did not get that many changes after the big update. He became slightly stronger than before, but the buffs weren’t as impressive as those of Jakiro.

Number 3 on our list is Bristleback, with 53 games. The offlaner has 28 wins and 25 matches, resulting in around a 53% win rate.

    Most Banned Heroes

Considering his stats prior to the 7.38 Dota 2 update and what happened after it, it’s no surprise Abaddon became the most banned hero. At the time of writing, he continues to be the strongest hero in Dota 2 and has the highest win rate. Despite the nerfs in 7.38b, he is still a solid pick across all brackets.

Back to the DreamLeague Season 25 meta-analysis, Abaddon received a total of 128 bans. The hero actually appeared in 48 games and has a 56% win rate, making him one of the most successful picks.

Aside from Abaddon, Tiny is another hero who received way more bans than the rest. The latter got 122 bans, which may surprise some of you. However, we need to mention that the hero has more than a 60% win rate, making him one of the most successful options.

Lastly, we have Monkey King, a hero who was banned 115 times in DreamLeague Season 25. MK was a good pick before the new update, but 7.38 made him even better, so we expect to see more from him.

    Most Successful Heroes

When it comes to the most successful heroes at DreamLeague Season 25, Ursa is the first option that deserves attention. Even though the hero only appeared in 12 games, her win rate is 83.33%. Surprisingly, Ursa did not get that many changes in the latest Dota 2 update.

The second most successful hero at DLS25 was Winter Wyvern. The latter played in 10 games and ended with a 70% win rate, but it’s worth mentioning that she exploded in popularity following 7.38. This is probably one of the reasons why 7.38b nerfed her ultimate.

Lastly, we have Enigma, the hero who had the chance to play in 22 games. Enigma secured a 68% win rate, which is not surprising. This has always been one of the heroes that has been popular in professional games.

    Least Successful Heroes

If we check the least successful Dota 2 heroes following DreamLeague Season 25, we will see that Pugna is above the rest. After 14 matches, Pugna only got a 21% win rate, meaning it won 3 games and lost 11 matches.

Aside from Pugna, Lina is another hero who did not perform well. After 22 games, Lina ended with 6 wins and 16 losses, resulting in a 27% win rate.

Lastly, we have Templar Assassin, a midder who only had the chance to play in 10 matches. Sadly, TA did not impress us at all because she only won 3 games and secured a 30% win rate. Despite her bad professional and PUB stats, 7.38 did not give TA any buffs (on the contrary, the hero received even more nerfs).

PGL Wallachia Season 3 Hero Predictions

DreamLeague Season 25 is over, so fans can’t wait to see PGL Wallachia Season 3. Aside from seeing some of the best players and teams in Dota 2, we will see the first event played entirely after the Wandering Waters update. Therefore, we expect to see some interest picks.

Starting with the most popular heroes, it seems like Dragon Knight, Jakiro, and WW will be the main favorites. All of them received small nerfs in 7.38b, but they continue to be solid picks.

Regarding the most banned heroes, our vote goes to Abaddon, Lifestealer, and Wraith King. All 3 of them are really strong right now and can make a big difference.

Moving on to the most successful heroes, this honor will likely go to Jakiro, Abaddon, and Invoker. The latter hasn’t been that popular lately, but he received good buffs in 7.38b.

As for the least successful, Pugna, Lina, and Templar Assassin will most likely be on the list.

    Closing Thoughts

Don’t forget that PGL Wallachia Season 3 will begin in just a few days from now. Valve was quick to release 7.38b before the event, so we can’t wait to see the first major Dota 2 tournament on it. Make sure to follow us for more details.
