Chinese player Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida, who is currently playing for PSG.LGD, has decided to retire from Dota 2 competitive scene after finishing The International 2022.
“I will retire after TI11, leave the arena forever, and start a new chapter. This is what I have personally thought for a long time, and I will not talk about it for the time being. I am sorry, but I am longing for it. Here, I say this idea to tell my teammates and opponents that I have enough awareness for the final game, and I will try my best to fight for the championship regardless of the outcome. Even the last one I can accept. I’m looking forward to embracing the enjoyment of e-sports competition one last time. And sharing it with old and new fellows all around the world. See you in the arena,” he noted on Weibo.
Faith_bian has been playing as a professional Dota 2 player since 2014. The biggest achievement of his career was the victory at The International 2016 with Wings Gaming. The player also took second place at TI last year with PSG.LGD, losing in the final to Team Spirit.
By the age of 24, the Chinese offlaner had won more than $3.6 million in prize money.
The International 2022 will be held from 15 to 30 October in Singapore.
