PGL Wallachia Season 3 was among the big Dota 2 tournaments that took place in March. Besides bringing together all of the best teams and having a $1M prize pool, the competition was special because it was the first big event following the game-changing patch 7.38. Although we also saw a few games on the new patch at DreamLeague Season 25, this event was on another level.
After a series of epic matches, PGL Wallachia S3 is over, and Team Liquid has lifted the trophy. The squad seems to have adapted quickly to the new meta and taken full advantage of it.
Speaking of the meta, everyone is eager to learn about the top heroes because professional players also dictate the pub meta. So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of the most important stats you need to know.
Contents
Most Popular Hero

With 65 picks and a 53.85% win rate, Jakiro wins the crown as the most popular hero at PGL Wallachia Season 3. The support was on another level in terms of popularity and had a huge lead over the 2nd option on the list.
The fact that Jakiro is here is probably unsurprising because the hero was already extremely popular at DreamLeague Season 25. His damage output, CC, and overall effectiveness at all game stages make him incredibly important.
The second-most popular Dota 2 hero was Muerta, who made 41 appearances. It seems like the carry is finally back on track because many teams picked it.
As for number 3, the honor goes to Nature’s Prophet. It has been a while since Furion was in the professional meta, so it will be interesting to see if he will remain a part of it in the future.
Least Popular Hero

When it comes to the least popular heroes at PGL Wallachia Season 3, we have 5 in total that did not receive a single pick:
- Naga Siren
- Anti-Mage
- Necrophos
- Spectre
- Oracle
It seems like none of the Dota 2 teams right now believes that these heroes are worth it. The 3 carries are hard to use in the current meta because they are too slow, whereas the other 2 heroes are not good (as of now).
Most Successful Hero

If we check all of the Dota 2 heroes who appeared in more than 10 matches, we will see that Crystal Maiden and Monkey King were the most successful options. Both have 10 games and finished with a 70% win rate, which is impressive.
Magnus also deserves special attention here because he shined in 13 games and achieved a 68.42% win rate. We also want to mention Muerta because, besides being one of the most picked heroes, her win rate is also 60.98%, which is really impressive.
Most Banned Hero

In terms of the most banned hero at PGL Wallachia Season 3, Night Stalker wins the competition. He received 95 bans in total, which is probably not surprising, considering his role in the meta. The hero is incredibly hard to deal with, and it seems like the team simply doesn’t want to mess with him.
The 2nd option on the list is Magnus, with 89 bans, followed by Dazzle, with 86. Dazzle is an interesting name on this list because we rarely see support heroes among the top bans.
Least Successful Hero

When it comes to some of the least successful Dota 2 heroes at PGL Wallachia Season 3, there are several picks that we need to talk about. The most shocking one is Marci, a hero who does really well in the pub meta but can’t work in the professional one. After 17 appearances, Marci only got 3 victories, resulting in a 17.65% win rate, one of the lowest in a pro tournament.
Dark Willow also has dreadful stats because players picked her 11 times in total and only won 3 matches. Consequently, her final win rate ended at 27.27%. Interestingly, Leshrac is in the same position as Marci in terms of picks and win rate.
Heroes to Keep an eye on

The meta analysis of this tournament aims to show you some of the best and worst heroes for professional players. That said, there are a few options we’d like to discuss that did not make it on the list, but it is just a matter of time before they do.
Keeper of the Light is a good example. Even though he only appeared in 6 matches, KotL was exceptionally strong in them and had a huge impact on the game. That is why he has a jaw-dropping win rate of 83.33%.
The same applies to Invoker and Huskar. Both of these core heroes appeared in 7 games and won 5 of them, meaning they are definitely in a good position to become hot options in the meta. We will just have to wait and see what’s going to happen.
Closing Thoughts
After the end of the PGL Wallachia Season 3, Dota 2 fans have to prepare themselves for the next big tournaments. Starting this week, we can watch the FISSURE Universe Episode 4, a $500K competition that will have 16 of the best teams in the world. This will be the 2nd big tournament following the arrival of 7.38b, so we can’t wait to see whether there will be a big difference in the top picks and bans.
