The PGL Wallachia Season 3’s Group Stage is finally over, and it is time to see what happened. Some of the favorites secured their sports for the Playoffs, but many teams failed to live up to the expectations. We at Blix.gg decided to look deeply into everything, so let’s begin.
PGL Wallachia Season 3 Group Stage Winners
As you have probably seen in our tournament overview, this Dota 2 tournament only had one group. All teams had to go up against some of their opponents to determine which 8 of them would advance to the event’s next stage. Now that the results are over, we already know the names of each one that have succeeded.
The Winners
Following all of the PGL Wallachia Season 3 Group Stage matches, these are the 8 teams that are advancing to the next stage:
- Team Liquid
- Team Spirit
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Team Tidebound
- Xtreme Gaming
- Tundra Esports
- Team Falcons
- Aurora Gaming
Most fans were not surprised that teams like Liquid, GG, Falcons, Spirit, and Tundra were among the best. All of them have had really good results recently and had little to no problems in the group.
With that said, the situation is different for 3 teams – Xtreme Gaming, Team Tidebound and Aurora Gaming. The two Chinese Dota 2 powerhouses surprised their fans with really good results. Both defeated many of the big names from Western Europe, so it will be exciting to see what’s going to happen in the Playoffs.
Speaking of Western Europe, Aurora Gaming’s new roster exceeded people’s expectations. Despite the two losses, the team ended up in the Upper Part of the Group and advanced to the Playoffs.
The Losers
Sadly, not all Dota 2 teams made it to the PGL Wallachia Season 3 Playoffs. Following all series, here are the squads that failed to live up to the expectations:
- HEROIC
- AVULUS
- Natus Vincere
- Nigma Galaxy
- Wildcard
- OG
- Yellow Submarine
- Mosquito Clan
To be fair, most Dota 2 fans are probably not surprised that some teams ended up here. This is not true for everyone, however, because people thought that Nigma Galaxy, HEROIC, and AVULUS would achieve better results.
Nigma Galaxy is definitely one of the biggest disappointments so far. Despite receiving a direct invitation following Talon Esports’s decision to skip the event, Nigma only secured one victory. The team defeated Na’Vi, but it lost against Team Falcons, Xtreme Gaming, and Yellow Submarine.
Another team that disappointed everyone is OG. Despite the roster changes and some of the more promising results, OG crumbled. The team failed to defeat anyone and lost all of its 3 matches.
AVULUS and HEROIC also failed to impress fans after several disappointing games. We really hope that they will step up their game for the subsequent Dota 2 tournaments.
