The International 12 is over, so it is time for roster changes. Despite the fact that there is still time until the new season begins, we already have a couple of interesting changes in some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world.

There will be even more Post TI12 Dota 2 roster shuffles in the future, but let’s cover everything that’s happened so far. Some of the things you’re about to see are going to come as a surprise.

Evil Geniuses no longer has a Dota 2 team

South America is one of the Dota regions where everything is possible. Although the teams here have not been able to go up against the best from Eastern and Western Europe, Evil Geniuses was the only squad who could put up a challenge.

Unfortunately, the disappointing performance of EG at TI12 has had a negative impact on its roster. Just a few days following the end of TI12, Evil Geniuses announced they’re dropping off their Dota 2 roster, and by the looks of it, they won’t get a new one.

There were many rumors as to why this is the case, but we don’t know the answer. It’ll be a shame if a team as iconic as EG decides to stop being a part of Dota 2.

    Taiga and OG part ways

After being away for a few months, Taiga officially waved goodbye to his former team. As reported by BLIX, the Norwegian player has had a lot of problems lately, including a gambling addiction. He goes deep into it in his Twitter post, but to make a long story short, he is back on the right track and will be back in action.

However, instead of playing with his former team OG, Tommy "Taiga" Le said he would leave the team. Moreover, he revealed he’ll be a part of another region, but we’re yet to learn more about it. One thing is certain: Taiga will come back stronger than ever.

    Beastcoast drops its team

Another interesting post TI12 Dota 2 roster change in South America affects the 2nd-strongest team in the region — beastcoast. Despite the fact that BC had stable results in 2023, it seems like the organization wasn’t happy with the squad’s performance at TI12. Therefore, the team decided to make their post TI12 Dota 2 roster changes by disbanding its active roster.

We’re yet to see which players will play under the beastcoast banner in 2024. Considering Evil Geniuses also dropped its roster, we wouldn’t be surprised if the players decide to join their former team.

Team Liquid parted ways with Zai

Another team from Western Europe who were affected by the post TI12 Dota 2 roster changes is Team Liquid. One of the big favorites to win The International 12 weren’t able to achieve the task after losing to Gaimin Gladiators in the Lower Bracket. Sadly, this put an end to the organization’s dream of winning the Aegis for the 2nd time.

Whether it’s because of the loss or another reason, it seems like Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg won’t be a part of the team anymore. The legendary offlaner was Team Liquid’s most experienced player, but he will take a break from the competitive scene.

With Team Liquid needing a new offlaner means we can expect to see some interesting changes in the upcoming months. There are a lot of “free” players right now, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Liquid decides to add someone from a different region.

Talon Esports will part ways with Mikoto

Talon Esports was the only squad from Southeast Asia who were able to put up a challenge against the best from other regions. Even though the team wasn’t able to reveal its full power, it surprised us with a few interesting results.

Speaking of post TI12 Dota 2 roster changes, we’ve learned Rafli "Mikoto" Fathur Rahman will most likely part ways with this team. According to one of his live streams, he is considering taking a break from a few tournaments. Moreover, he said he has offers from teams from Southeast Asia as well as North America.

Considering Mikoto is one of Talon’s best players, his decision to move to another team will definitely impact the squad’s performance. That said, we are yet to see the final result because he may decide to stay.

    Kuku Leaves Blacklist International

Another roster change in the SEA Dota 2 scene affects none other than Blacklist International. Despite having one of the best rosters in the region, BI was unable to secure a slot for TI12. That’s probably one of the reasons why Carlo "Kuku" Palad decided to leave the team. We are yet to see where he is going to go.

PSG Quest part ways with Tobi

Tobias "Tobi" Buchner was one of the best players PSG Quest had, and he was one of the reasons the squad qualified for The International 12. Even though the team was unable to live up to the expectations, we did not expect to see a roster change. However, it seems like the Post TI12 Dota 2 Roster changes affected the team because Tobi is no longer a part of it.

    Players who will switch teams

Besides the roster changes we’re currently aware of, we can find a lot of players looking for teams. Perhaps the most famous one is Peter "ppd" Dager, the player who won The International 5 with Evil Geniuses more than 8 years ago. Besides him, we can also find Milan "MiLAN" Kozomara, Yap "xNova" Jian Wei, and more.
