The Brazilian esports organization SG esports inflates the scandal around the non-payment of prize money following the results of Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022 Tour 3 in South America. Brazilians claim that they contacted Valve three times, but didnât receive a response.
SG esports stated that 4D Esports, the organizer of DPC SA, on December 1 promised to pay out the prize money within 7 days that have passed, but the money hasnât been received. But most of all Brazilians are depressed by the silence of Valve.
“As you know, the situation is critical, we have former players struggling to pay their bills. But the most serious of all is Valve’s complete silence. We tried to contact 3 times via email and have not received a response since 11/24/2022,” SG esports noted.
SG esports believes that if 4D is unable to pay, then Valve is responsible for it. And wonders if the collaboration between Valve and 4D will continue in the future.
“Will Valve let his company organize other official tournaments?” SG esports asked on Twitter.
As BLIX.GG earlier reported, SG esports disbanded the Dota 2 roster at the beginning of November and some weeks later decided to cease its operations. The organization then did not explain the reasons for this, limiting itself to wishes for success to the players and thanks to everyone who supported the team.
SG esports is not the only member of the community to announce the issue. At the end of November, Heitor “Duster” Pereira also complained that 4D Esports was not paying out the prize money.
“Its been 4 months since DPC tour 3 ENDED and @Esports4d still didnt pay prizepool. If you count the time we “worked” during DPC plus all this waiting its at least 6 MONTHS to get paid. Can you imagine players dont live at their parents basement anymore? We have bills to pay,” he noted on Twitter.
