Tickets for the main annual Dota 2 event The International 2022 went on sale on August 13 at 10:00 am Singapore time (2:00 am GMT) and sold out in just 15 minutes.
Now tickets have appeared on third-party sites with a considerable markup: $1,000-$1,500 per ticket.
Initially, the tickets costed 88 SGD (64 USD) for each game day of the main part of the tournament and 498 SGD (362 USD) for both days of the final stage of The International 2022.
Earlier in the blog, Valve had promised to restrict people from buying no more than five tickets for each day for one person. However, Reddit users noted that the limitation does not check the buyer’s identity but only his device. Therefore people can bypass it using, among other things, many virtual machines or other devices.
The International 2022 will take place from 8 to October 30 – it will be the longest TI in history – in Singapore at the Indoor Stadium and Suntec Singapore. About thirty teams will take part in the competition.
