Tournament operator ESL has announced the decision not to host IEM China 2022 which was scheduled for December. The reason is the epidemiological situation in China which led to restrictions on holding international events.

At the same time, ESL hasn’t abandoned plans to hold a major championship in the Asian region. Holding the event in China will be considered when forming the competitive calendar for 2023.

ESL also postponed the EPL Season 17 Conference, the qualifying tournament for the ESL Pro League. To avoid scheduling conflicts with the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2022, the EPL Season 17 Conference has been moved from November to early next year.
