Riot Games has announced plans to change the rates for in-game currency in its games League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Valorant, Legends of Runterra, and Wild Rift. The announcement appeared on the studio's official website.
While most players will not see a price increase, this change will likely affect many, such as the blix.gg team has gathered information on how and in which regions prices will change.

Reasons Why Riot is Changing Regional Prices
In its blog, Riot states that it needs to adjust prices to changes in exchange rates and local economies and improve the balance of prices between regions. According to the publisher, third parties exploit the differences through server transfers and VPNs, and Riot wants to prevent this from happening in the future.
In most regions, the prices of donation currency will increase. Still, in some countries, the cost of RP and VP will be reduced: Poland (-6%), India (-6%), the UK (-9%), and several Latin American countries. Minimal price increases will hit Australia (5%), Romania (5%), Japan (7%), Thailand (7%), and Hungary (7%).
Date When Prices Will Change
Riot's decision will take effect on September 18, after which in-game currency prices will change. Before the price change, however, the company will give players bonus currency in regions where it becomes more expensive. The bonuses went into effect for most regions starting September 4, 9:00 a.m. PT.
For example, a Valorant set costing 2,050 VP will provide an additional 300 bonus VP. Also, some sets will be brought to a single price tag, such as the 1380 RP set in League of Legends, which will be available in each region.
The timing of these bonuses for Korea, Taiwan, and Japan is peculiar. In Taiwan, the Double Bonus promotion will be available starting September 19 at 9 am PST and will run until October 3 at 9 am PST, after which the prices will change.
In the Korean region, players will see an additional 10% promotion from Sept. 4, 9 am PT, to Sept. 22, 8 am PT. For the Japan Server, the date and time of the price change and Double Bonus Promo will be announced on local game social channels in the future.

Reaction of Players to Changes in Regional Prices
Many Reddit players are uninspired by Riot's change. They say skins were already expensive, and now the prices will be even higher. Some point out that the company's statement that it understands the outrage and wishes it didn't have to raise prices is downright insulting.
Valorant and LoL players have been actively speaking out on Reddit, and some have even offered their solutions to the problems Riot has stated. However, it seems that nothing can be changed.
Should You Buy Skins and Cosmetic Items in Valorant and LoL?
Whether or not skins are worth buying in games at all is hard to answer. Some players may find solace in customizing their weapons to stand out from other players, while others may want to focus on increasing rank and improving their gameplay. Therefore, the decision is yours alone to make. However, the cosmetics do look pretty spectacular.
