The Brazilian esports organization Imperial Esports are in negotiations of signing the MIBR in-game leader Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian, Dust2 Brasil reported citing its own sources.
JOTA could take the place of Fernando “fer” Alvarenga. 31-year-old fer due to rumors could retire from esports or take a pause in their career.
According to the outlet, the parties have advanced in the negotiations, but they are not officially confirmed yet. Imperial declined to comment on the information, while MIBR said:
“We received proposals for some players, but nothing has been finalized yet. All of the main CS:GO lineup remain under contract with us at the moment.”
24-year-old JOTA has been playing with MIBR since October 2021. With the organization, he won a number of B-Tier tournaments and ranked second at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR and BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2022.
If the negotiations are successful, the Imperial will be:
- Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo (IGL)
- Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian
- Ricardo “boltz” Prass
- Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo
- Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes
- Lincoln “fnx” Lau (coach)
