League of Legends’s TCG Game Will be Called Riftbound
Several months ago, Riot said that there will be a physical TCG game that would be inspired by League of Legends and the champions there. It became clear that the game would be called Project K, but it seems like this won’t be the case. Based on the most recent video about it, the game will be called Riftbound, and we have a lot of important updates that you need to know about.
Details about Riftbound
Based on what we know, the game will have the following modes:
- 1v1
- 2v2
- free-for-all rounds
The first set of Riftbound will be called Origins, and it will include a total of 300 cards. There will be many different options to choose from, including spell and unit cards. You will also have access to Legend cards, and some cards will have a rare version that comes with a unique illustration.
In terms of champions, Origins will feature Lee Sin, Viktor, Yasuo and Jinx. What’s also interesting is that Riftbound will have a Proving Grounds collection, which will include cards for newcomers to TCG.
When can we Expect to see Riftbound?
Based on the information we have, Riftbound should become available in September 2025 in China. People in other parts of the world will have to wait until 2026 if they want to give it a go.
The good news is that fans will have earlier access to Riftbound if they decide to visit some of Riot’s events. According to Chai, the game will be featured in these events, so this is a good chance for fans to get close to it.
Since the game is slowly approaching, we expect to learn a lot more information about it. Keep in mind that Riot works alongside UVS Games, one of the biggest TCG publishers in the world. The brand has more than 17 years of experience, so we can expect Riftbound to be really good.
