Over 6.8M Peak Viewers At the 2024 Worlds
League of Legends is famous for many different things, one of which is the fact that fans love watching the best teams in action. Many of the most interesting LoL matches gathered millions of viewers, but one of them is above the rest.
If we check the stats, we can see that the 2024 World Championship had more than 6.8M peak viewers at one point. This became the most viewed event in Esports and surpassed the previous record from 2023, which was 6.4 M. Number 3 on the list goes to Worlds 2022, which had around 5.1M peak viewers. As of 2025, South Korea has 731 professional LoL players, substantially more than the number 2 country on our list.
Speaking of the devil, China takes second place on the list. Aside from being a hot spot for Dota 2, China has all sorts of world-class Chinese LoL players—638 of them in total.
Lastly, the third place on the list goes to France with 447 players. An interesting fact is that the U.S. is close behind with 438 players, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the two countries switch places in the next couple of months.
Faker Leads in Terms of Total Winnings
When most people hear about League of Legends, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is one of the first names that comes to their mind. He is probably the most famous Esport player ever and is the first LoL MVP. That’s why it’s also not surprising that the $1.8M he won from numerous LoL events makes him the leader in total winnings.
Lee “Duke” Ho-seong is the second name that also deserves to be on the list. If we take a look at the most recent stats, we can see that his overall winnings equal to $959K.
Lastly, we have Lee “Duke” Ho-seong, the most successful Chinese LoL player. His current winnings are equal to $926k.
