Overview
PGL has announced the complete schedule for its inaugural event of the year, taking place in Cluj-Napoca. Beginning on February 14, the Romanian tournament will showcase 16 teams competing for a prize pool of $1.25 million. The 16 squads participating in the event were selected according to their position in Valve’s Regional Standings, which also established the initial match pairings.
Tournament Format
The PGL Cluj-Napoca event will kick off with a five-round Swiss format, hosted in the Bucharest studio of the Romanian company. Subsequently, the top eight teams will advance to Cluj-Napoca for the single-elimination playoff rounds, which will occur at BTarena, the same location that hosted the playoffs of the Romanian Major back in 2015.

The tournament’s top seed, TheMongolZ, is set to compete against the ninth seed, Complexity, while the second seed, FaZe, will face off against the tenth seed, SAW
One of the fascinating match-ups in the opening round will feature MOUZ facing off against BIG, marking Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi’s first appearance for the current World No. 7 team, which was eliminated from IEM Katowice in 13th-16th place with Adrian ‘xelex‘ Vincze filling in as a stand-in.
