According to sources close to the situation, Matheus ‘Ramalho’ Gonçalves is the G2’s target to replace Fabian ‘Fabian’ Hällsten. The situation between both parties is pretty advanced, BLIX.GG has learned.
Ramalho’s departure from FaZe Clan was already announced today by the organization following a more than three-year partnership between the coach and FaZe.
Fabian returned to G2 as coach after a winning period as a player in the organization and brought the team to the title road again. The European squad was able to win the Six Invitational 2023 under Fabian’s leadership.
If Ramalho and G2 close the deal, the European organization will increase the number of Brazilian members in the team and in the European League. Karl ‘Alem4o’ Zarth joined the team in the 2022 season, while Team Secret now has three Brazilian members competing in the league.
G2 came from a disappointing result in Gamers8 with a close defeat to M80 and an elimination by Team Falcons in a comfortable match for the Saudi team. The tournament was the first challenge for the new member Luigi ‘Gemini’ Ferrigno as G2 player. The Italian player replaced Byron ‘Blurr’ Murray in G2’s active roster.
The second stage of the European League is set to start on September 4th.
