A Californian court has approved a $100 million settlement between Riot Games and a group of women who sued the company over gender discrimination, Axios reported.

The lawsuit began in 2018. Riot offered $10 million compensation in 2019, but the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) stated that women can claim even $400 million. As a result, the parties agreed to a $100 million settlement which had to be approved by the court.

2,300 female employees of Riot will receive a share of $80 million from the settlement amount, while $20 million will be lawyer's fees and other expenses.

Riot also agreed to be monitored for three years by an independent organization.
