Vitality is not giving any chance to the opponents, with a great streak being awarded the lift of the RLCS World Championship trophy.
The tournament started on August 3rd with the Wildcard teams. Sixteen teams competed for eight spots in the group stage in the Swiss format. G2 and Team Falcons were able to get through without conceding a defeat, while KRÃ, Spacestation and Complexity qualified for the next phase with three victories and one defeat. Moist, Twisted Minds and Team Secret were the three last teams to conquer a spot in the World’s Championship group stage with a 3-2.

The Brazilian duo, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team Secret, left the competition following two defeats; for the Ninjas, the first game was a domestic match-up and besides the better seed, NIP wasn’t able to get a victory over KRÃ.
Team Liquid qualified with victories over Complexity and KRÃ. European squad, Team BDS, got two comfortable wins against Team Falcons and the Winter Split Major winners, Karmine Corp. The French roster and Falcons got the two last spots from Group A to playoffs.

Surprisingly, FaZe Clan farewelled Düsseldorf without conquering a victory. The team announced the departure of the former coach Raul ‘Roll Dizz’ Diaz, and the addition of Robert ‘Chrome’ Gomez one day before the competition started. Twisted Minds joined FaZe Clan in saying goodbye without winning while Gen.G and Team Vitality faced no difficulties in getting the two first spots in the playoffs from Group B.
Spacestation and G2 got the two last spots in the lower bracket without much discussion.
Playoffs
The first playoff game put Team Vitality, Spring Split Major winners, and Team Falcons, the Saudi hope face to face. The French squad got the victory by 4-2.
The next one was Karmine Corp against Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, two Major winners in the current season but Axel ‘vatira.’ Touret and the teammates didn’t let Gen.G breathe, getting a clean 4-0 victory.
Team Liquid overcame Spacestation 4-2, leaving G2 as the only North American representative in the competition. However, with a 4-1 result, BDS eliminated G2, leaving the World Championship semi-finals with only European rosters, three of them with French core.
Vitality kept the good phase and got the victory over Karmine Corp by 4-2, while in the semi-final, Team Liquid didn’t get a chance against BDS 4-0.
The French organization, Team Vitality, ended up being crowned as World Championship champions of the 2022-23 season following a 4-0 win over BDS. The 16-year-old talent Alexis ‘zen’ Bernier and his teammates continue to impress the world with impressive performances. For zen it was a dream year since he joined the team. He won all the possible tournaments, three regionals, 1 Major and the World Championship.
