According to sources with knowledge of the proposed changes, BLIX understands that Ultraliga, Poland's domestic league in League of Legends, could lose its status as an accredited European Regional League next year.

As a result of these changes, which are being considered by Riot, could see the league lose a number of benefits it garners as an accredited league. Most striking is that the league would potentially lose its spots in the EMEA Masters tournament and have its spots redistributed to other leagues or tournaments.

Additionally, teams in Ultraliga would lose the majority of their stipend while the league would also decrease from ten to eight teams.

These changes come amidst rumors that Riot are looking to change the format of EMEA Masters for 2024 and also comes as Riot have introduced salary caps into the LEC amidst a general sustainability crisis across esports.

This is a developing story, so be sure to keep an eye on BLIX's League of Legends portal as we bring the latest news about changes coming to the game in 2024.
