Although many Dota 2 players are fans of the core role because it allows them to have more control, there are tons of support players as well. In fact, playing support in the Dota 2 patch 7.33b is pretty fun, assuming you’re picking the right heroes. Therefore, this article will go over some of the best Hard Support Dota 2 Heroes in patch 7.33b.

Speaking of the new patch, The New Frontiers Update gave us access to a lot of things, so make sure to learn more about it. Almost all heroes in Dota 2 received substantial changes, so it shouldn’t be a surprise the meta is completely different than before.

In terms of Hard Support, the so-called position 5 is vital during the early stages of the game. A team that doesn't have a good Pos5 player usually has problems early on, leading to many difficulties in the mid-game. Consequently, it is important to have a strong Hard Support Dota 2 hero in 7.33b.

    Chen

The first hero who comes to mind when talking about strong Support in the latest Dota 2 patch is Chen. Following the changes, Chen is a hero that can farm fast for a support hero. What’s more, his ability to control Neutral Creeps from early on allows him to be extremely effective at ganking. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why some people use him as a Soft Support.

Despite Chen’s potential, he is among the least popular Dota 2 heroes because he is hard to play. Like Meepo, Chen requires you to have good unit control, meaning you need to control several units to be effective. As you can imagine, not many Dota 2 players have that, which is why Chen is almost always one of the least-popular picks in every patch.

However, if we take a look at the professional meta in the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, we can see he's a fairly popular pick. Therefore, it shouldn’t be surprising that a lot of pro players decide to give him a chance.

Aside from Chen, Enchantress is in a similar position right now, albeit a bit weaker. The good thing about her in 7.33b is she’s a bit easier to play. No wonder she is a lot more popular than Chen in PUB games.

    Crystal Maiden

When talking about the best Hard Support Dota 2 heroes in 7.33b, we need to share a few words about Crystal Maiden. She is probably the definition of a POS 5 hero in Dota 2 and is often the first support hero who comes to mind for Dota fans. Even though she’s always been a popular option for PUB players, when it came to professional play, Crystal Maiden was never that big.

However, after the changes came along with the new patch, we can see in the Dota 2 Reddit she has become the go-to option for a lot of players. The hero’s early game is pretty good because she can harass and provide mana.

The main problem with Crystal Maiden is the fact she’s slow and extremely fragile. Therefore, people have to be very careful about the engagements they take and how they position themselves. Unsurprisingly, it is not uncommon to see feeding CMs in pub games.

Another reason why Crystal Maiden is among the best Hard Support heroes in the Dota 2 patch 7.33b is because of her ability to farm. Her Frostbite gives her a huge advantage over other position 5s.

    Disruptor

Despite not being the best lane support in the game, Disruptor has always been a safe pick as a position 5. Currently, he is among the best Hard Support Dota 2 heroes because he has one of the strongest ultimates in the game. He is one of the few heroes in his role who can have a massive impact on the team fights early on and in the mid-game. However, this will only happen if he gets a solid start and reaches level 6 quickly enough.

In terms of pub games, Disruptor is always fun to play, especially when you start Glimpsing enemy heroes. He is fairly easy to master when compared to the likes of Chen, which is another reason why a lot of people pick him.

    Lich

Whether you check Dota 2 Liquipedia or Reddit, you can see a lot of people consider Lich to be one of the best Hard Support Dota 2 heroes in 7.33b. His ability to harass early on and have constant mana allows him to be way more aggressive. That’s one of the reasons why you can often find him alongside carries like Slark and Ursa.

Another thing people often forget about Lich is that he can CC enemy heroes. That may not seem that good early on, but the hero can be a nightmare against mobile and fragile heroes, such as Ember Spirit, Storm Spirit, and more. Therefore, always consider him as a potential pick because Lich can be an excellent option.

    Oracle

Lastly, we have Oracle, a hero who many people consider to be overpowered right now. The hero received substantial buffs recently, which allow him to deal a lot more damage and be way more effective. The fact that he no longer disarms his allies makes him extremely effective, even with aggressive carries.

Of course, Oracle provides many other benefits, such as magic resistance and one of the best single-target ultimates in the game. We expect to see a lot more from the hero in the future.
