    New Skins Already Released

League of Legends, a popular MOBA game, generates significant revenue by selling cosmetic items for its 160 champions. As the game enters its 13th season in 2023, players can expect even more skins for their favorite champions.

At the start of 2023, League of Legends has over 1,400 unique skins. While plenty of new skins were released in 2022, players can expect epic new skins and fan-favorite iterations in 2023.

Take a look at some of the skins that have been released so far in 2023:

    • Mythmaker: Irelia, Galio, Zyra, Garen, and Sivir – released on January 12, 2023, with LoL Patch 13.1
    • Lunar Gods: Ashe, Qiyana, Thresh, Kha’Zix, and Malphite – released on January 26, 2023, with LoL Patch 13.1b
    • Heartache & Heartthrob: Vi, Caitlyn, and Amumu – released on February 10, 2023, with LoL Patch 13.3
    • Astronaut: Singed, Fizz, Xerath, Ivern, and Kennen – released on February 23, 2023, with LoL Patch 13.4

Riot is determined to finally give some long-overdue love to some champions that have yet to receive new skins. The Champions that will receive skins in 2023:

    • Aurelion Sol
    • Ivern (Astronaut Skin in LoL Patch 13.4)
    • Kled
    • Kalista

    Prestige Skins in 2023

Prestige skins are back! Brand-new concepts will make them feel even more exclusive. Some of the Prestige skins coming in 2023:

    • Mythmaker Sivir Prestige Edition – released on January 11, 2023, with LoL Patch 13.1
    • Porcelain Lissandra Prestige Edition – released on January 26, 2023, with LoL Patch 13.1b

The Lissandra skin will have a prestige version for 2023, but there is no word yet if it will be part of the Lunar Revel.

    New Champions

League of Legends introduces two new champions, Milio, the enchanter from Ixhtal, and Naafiri, the Darkin mid-lane assassin. While details about these champions are limited, we have been given a glimpse of their aesthetic through teaser art.

In addition to the new champions, players can also look forward to some champion updates this year. Over the weekend, information was released about the Ahri and Aurelion Sol updates, including a complete visual upgrade for Ahri abilities and skins and a top-to-bottom kit, rework for Aurelion Sol, including the ability to crash stars and shoot lasers at enemy champions. The much-anticipated Skarner VGU update is also in the works. More concept art has was released to help players visualize where the team wants to go with this Champion.

Players can also expect updates to Nidalee, Varus, and two other champions who have not been named yet. The goal is to release roughly one mid-scope update for a Champion every two months. However, the timing is subject to change depending on the work required for each rework.

As for skins, League of Legends has a wide variety of new skin lines and additions to prior favorites planned for 2023. Players can find the skin release schedule in the Season 13.1 and 13.2 listings.

    Ahri ASU

Riot Games Shanghai studio recently confirmed that Ahri’s much-anticipated Visual and Gameplay Update (ASU) will be the first release of League of Legends Season 13, followed by Aurelion Sol and two new champions. With the tradition of the first rework or champion release being in January with the start of a new season, it is likely that Ahri’s ASU will be released around the same time.

Ahri’s ASU, accompanied by clips showing the progress made so far, has been the subject of several leaks and rumors. Recently, a leak regarding a new Lunar New Year-themed Ahri skin has also emerged. Currently, League of Legends has two skin lines celebrating the Lunar New Year – Porcelain and Firecracker – and there is a possibility that one of these skin lines might return to featuring Ahri’s new skin. Or the developers may introduce an entirely new skin line for Lunar New Year 2023.

The leaks and events seem to be in anticipation of the upcoming Lunar New Year, which takes place on January 23, 2023. If Ahri’s ASU and the Lunar New Year skin appear with patch 13.1, then it is expected that the skin will be included with Ahri’s ASU in the PBE version of the game on December 6, 2022. However, it’s important to note that this date is based on leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt.

    Faerie Skins

Kalista will receive a new skin as the Faerie Queen and preside over the court of the four seasons, with a look closer to her appearance in Camavor than her base appearance. Along with Kalista, Karma will also receive a Faerie skin. Jeremy Lee, League’s executive producer, hinted that not everything in the Fae world is “light and beauty,” suggesting the possibility of a darker side to this skin line.

    Cats vs. Dogs Skins

The skin line mentioned above is back! Another exciting addition, with new faces including a dog-like Skaarl and a cat-like Kled. The adorable Eternal Hunters will also get a half-dog and half-catappearance. Players love this skin line for its cute art and animations, and many champions would look great in either a cat or dog onesie. The Kled, would also make a great addition to this skin line, especially since he is also receiving a rework this year.

Players can expect around 130 skins to be released this year, similar to the number of skins released in 2021 and 2022. Fans of favorite skin lines and new ones alike can look forward to even more skins later in the year, offering endless possibilities for new looks for their famous champions.
