Patch 6.08 is live and while there have been teases on the new skin line that is going to be released, the major keynote is that the map Bind is returning to the competitive map pool. Icebox is being removed to make way for Bind. Bind, however, will look quite different from the last time you saw it. Quite a few key changes have been made to the map layout. Due to this, we could see quite a few changes in the meta on this map. So let’s have a look at the major changes taking place on the map of Bind in Valorant.
Bind A Site Changes
There are no changes to A Main and A Short. However, looking into Showers, quite a lot of changes have been made. The first is the location of the teleport from B. Previously, the teleport would send you into A Lobby. Once out of the teleport, you would be at an elevation behind boxes. Instead, now the teleport has been shifted closer to the entry of showers. As such, this results in a quicker rotation for attackers going from B to A. This should result in more roations and more attempts at misdirection from both teams. Previously, it would be seen that only after the defending Viper has used her Ultimate would teams make the most of the teleport.
The second thing that has changed is the entry into Showers and the dimensions of this part of the map. The entire path from Doors to Showers has been widened as a whole. The entry into A Site from Showers has been widened as well. This is crucial as this now doesnât make the entry quite the choke point it once was for attackers. The third major change would be the box layout on the A site itself. Previously consisting of only square boxes all around, there is now a rectangular box placed parallel to the entry of the site. One must note that these boxes are wall bangable, and so players must be cautious while planting the spike.
Bind B Site Changes
Compared to A Site, there are not as many drastic changes on this side of the map, but each change is quite crucial. The first one is that the CT side entry has now been widened. This is similar to the change on the A site with the entry through Showers. One major reason could be the need for players to not be able to hold a hard angle onto the entry. The second change on the map is the most important one: a small vent has been added into the walls of B’s elbow, making it harder for attackers to gain full control of site. Going back to the default plant spot would lead to no harm, but teams previously preferred having full site control. Finding a post plant that takes into consideration this vent will be quite the task.
The vent, in particular, will now allow there to be new and inventive Sage walls that one can use in the game while also allowing characters like Gekko and Skye to directly send their flashes into the site through the vent. This would result in being able to clear any form of presence on B’s Elbow. This could be pretty useful on the post plant. This opening can also result in there being more Molotov lineups from Brimstone or Phoenix. Viper could see even higher usage on this map after the changes. Also, it will be pretty interesting to see if Raze will play as large of an impact as she previously had.
