This is the first update of the new year, promising players some adjustments and tweaks to the game for a better gaming experience. Here is everything you should know about the Note Patch 10.00:

    New Agent: Tejo

Tejo is the star of this update, and his abilities promise to shake up the meta. He’s an Initiator with a kit focused on displacement and pinpoint strikes. Here’s a breakdown of his key abilities:

    • Special Delivery: A sticky grenade that concusses with an alt-fire for a single bounce.
    • Stealth Drone: A controllable drone that suppresses and reveals enemies.
    • Guided Salvo: An AR targeting system that fires guided missiles at selected map locations.
    • Armageddon: A tactical strike that creates a wave of explosions across a defined path.

Tejo’s arrival is staggered, beginning January 8 at 9 AM PT, so keep an eye out for him landing in your region soon!

    Goodbye Episodes, Hello Season 2025

A significant shift is coming in 2025 with Valorant moving away from the Episode format to a year-long calendar called “Season 2025.” Each Season will be broken into six Acts, allowing for a more extended journey with rank resets at the start and mid-season. This is a significant news update for dedicated players.

    Gameplay Tweaks:

The patch focuses on improving the reliability of explosion-based abilities from Raze, Sova, and Gekko. This should resolve instances, particularly Raze’s Showstopper, where damage didn’t always register as expected when interacting with level geometry.

    Introducing the FLEX Customization System

    New Cosmetic: FLEX

A new cosmetic customization menu is now available, letting you finally express yourself with FLEX cosmetics. Everyone will receive a default FLEX called STAT-COM. These can be assigned to your ‘Expressions Wheel‘ (formerly Spray Wheel).

Esports Hub Returns: VCT25 is Here

For Valorant Esports fans, the Esports Hub is back and better than ever for the VCT25 season. A new overview page provides a comprehensive view of the year-long VCT journey, showcasing roster changes, new guest teams, and the brackets for the International League Kickoff, which starts January 11.

Competitive Map Pool Gets a Refresh

    Map Rotation

The patch note also changes the map rotation. Fracture and Lotus are back in the Competitive and Deathmatch queues, while Ascent and Sunset are out. Map rotations will now happen every Act, so stay tuned for announcements.

Automatic Remake Improvements and System Enhancements

A welcome improvement to the remake system has been introduced. When a player is AFK in the first round, a remake vote will automatically start. It now only requires a majority vote, making it easier to avoid playing a 4v5.

Custom games now have a toggle to show map pings worldwide, reverting to pre-patch 9.11 behavior. This will be useful for labbing lineups and more efficient practice.

    Premier Updates

The premiere system moves to Stage V25A1 starting January 15. Teams in the Invite Division in Stage E9A3 that did not place in the top 16 have been demoted and put into their original zone.

    Bug Fixes

The patch also addresses several bugs:

    • Fixed ability color errors for observers.
    • Clove’s “Not Dead Yet” bug has been fixed.
    • Skye’s Guiding Light flash duration now scales appropriately.
    • Fixed hit confirm and VO issues with Guiding Light.
    • Cypher’s and Viper’s abilities no longer allow for wall penetration exploits.
    • Phoenix’s Blaze has had visual problems addressed.
    • Brimstone’s smokes now have improved performance.

    Awaited Patch Note

Patch 10.00 is a significant update for Valorant, bringing a new Agent, gameplay adjustments, cosmetic additions, and Esports enhancements. Tejo is the primary draw, but the map pool and rank structure changes should keep the gameplay experience fresh and engaging for the upcoming year.
