According to sources close to both teams, Vitality has signed Kang “Haru” Min-seung as their main jungler for the upcoming 2022 split. Vitality has also reached an agreement with former FunPlus Phoenix jungler Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo, sources confirmed to Blix.GG on Wednesday.
Haru will become the starting jungler for the French organization, while Chinese jungler Bo will develop as a substitute for the future of the LEC team.
Vitality has reached an agreement to buy Bo so that he can adapt during this Summer split and start competing with the team towards 2023. The reason for why he would not enter the main roster directly is that the chinese jungler does not have an advanced level of English needed to be able to communicate in the highest competition. Additionally it might take time for the player to acquire a visa.
Among the options that were considered to play in Vitality LEC as a starting jungler was Duncan “Skeanz” Marquet, who will remain in Vitality.Bee as the main jungler. The main reason why Vitality did not add the jungle player to the LEC team is the player’s welfare and the great project that Vitality has in the LFL.
Vitality will bench Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek and he will remain under contract in the organization. The decision to replace Selfmade was practically unanimous amongst all players and staff. The reason for requesting this was due to different interpretations of the meta.
The new main jungler of Vitality LEC will be Haru, who had a buyout of around 115K. The Korean jungler performed well in the NLC regular season with X7, despite being eliminated in the EU Masters 3-0 against LDLC. Haru played in Gen.G in 2018, and spent a year as a substitute in SK Telecom T1. Before leaving Korea to compete in the LLA he was the starting jungler for Hanwha Life.
On the other hand, former FPX jungler Bo was having trouble finding a team in China due to a match-fixing issue that got him banned for 4 months in 2021. He will finally come to Europe to adapt and compete at the highest level when he is ready.
