The Ukrainian company WePlay doesn’t intend to stop holding a series of Academy League tournaments, Cover.gg reports.

"In 2021, when the WePlay Academy League was created, we signed a contract with organizations for six seasons of the project. In 2022, no matter what, we fulfilled all our obligations. We are currently communicating with partners about the continuation of the project and work on the next seasons of the WePlay Academy League," WePlay told the outlet.

Earlier, the information had appeared in the media - citing informed sources - that WePlay is preparing for reforms in the company's activities and the first step will be the closure of tournaments for academy teams.

There have been six seasons of the Academy League so far. The last tournament was held from October 12 to November 20 last year. The winner “Young Ninjas” earned $45,000 for the victory.
