In-game events are held annually, as well as one-time promotions. Events are often accompanied by special game modes. They may also include limited-edition trophies, cosmetic items, and more.

New Bloom 2020 New Bloom 2020 was a New Bloom event that ran from January 24 to February 13, 2020. During this period, players could earn festive rewards by playing regular matches.
New Bloom 2019 New Bloom 2019 was a New Bloom event that ran from February 1 to February 11, 2019. During this period, players could earn festive rewards by playing regular matches.
New Bloom 2015 New Bloom 2015 is an event that lasted from February 12 to March 2, 2015. It celebrates the year of the Ram. This event features a new game mode, in which two teams battle it out with their respective Year Beasts.
New Bloom 2014 New Bloom 2014 is an event lasted from January 29 to February 2, 2014. It features numerous rewards, as well as a new game mode where players must battle Nian, the mighty Year Beast.
Diretide 2022 Diretide 2022 is a Halloween event that ran from November 3, 2022 to January 12, 2023. It featured a special game mode where two teams must kill Greevils, get Taffy, and score it in ENEMY wells while avoiding the wrath of Roshan. Players could earn many unique event cosmetics by playing matches and earning Diretide Points.
Diretide 2020 Diretide 2020 was a Halloween event that ran from October 29, 2020 to December 22, 2020. It featured a special game mode where two teams must collect the most taffy while avoiding the wrath of Roshan. Players could earn many unique event cosmetics by playing matches and earning Diretide Points.
Diretide 2013 Diretide 2013 was a Halloween event that lasted from November 14 to November 28, 2013. It features a game mode similar to Diretide 2012 with some changes, most notably that Roshan must now be killed repeatedly to obtain the server record, instead of being killed the fastest. Special crafting recipes were also introduced for this event.
Diretide 2012 Diretide 2012 was a Halloween event that began on October 30th, 2012. It introduced a new game mode, as well as the Greevil courier.
Frostivus 2019 Frostivus 2019 was a winter event that ran from December 18, 2019 to January 2, 2020. Players could complete a special rewards line by playing normal matches, which earned lottery wheel spins and Frostivus 2019 Treasures. This event was released alongside Flockheart's Gamble, an Arcana item for Ogre Magi.
Frostivus 2018: Frosthaven Frostivus 2018 was a winter Frostivus event that ran from December 19, 2018 to January 7, 2019. It featured the Frosthaven game mode, which is a co-op survival mode, where the players fend off herds of enemies. The event was released in conjunction with Rubick's Arcana, The Magus Cypher.
Frostivus 2017 Frostivus 2017 was a winter event that ran from December 14, 2017 to January 03, 2018. Players competed for points in a series of festival custom games. The Winter Terrain was also activated for the duration of the event.
Frostivus 2013: Wraith-Night Frostivus 2013 is a Christmas event that began on December 12, 2013. Skeleton King has been removed for this event, but was resurrected as Wraith King after global players collected enough souls in the Wraith-Night game mode.
