One of the most anticipated matches in Valorant is here, and fans can’t wait to watch it. On January 24th, two super American teams are about to clash for a chance of survival in the lower bracket run; this match will decide who goes home or who advances to the Lower round 2 and match the winner of KRU Esports vs. 2Game Esports.
Both teams are on the edge since both were expected to advance deeply in the tournaments after NRG’s significant roster change in the offseason and 100Theives‘ gamble by bringing a new controller.

High Expectations, No Results
When it came to the new season, Valorant community members and NRG fans had high hopes for the new NRG Esports roster since last year’s team didn’t work out as planned. In the offseason, NRG signed Adam “mada” Pampuch as a duelist to replace Max “Demon1” Mazanov, who left NRG for Leviatán. The second change NRG made was adding Andrew “Verno” Maust to complete the roster.
Before the 2025 season, NRG competed in two off-season tournaments, which drafted several strong teams along the way. That is why NRG was held as a high-expectation team to perform in VCT.
NRG failed to beat Cloud9 in their first match, 2-0, and now faces 100 Thieves for a chance of redemption.
100 Thieves Run So Far
100 Thieves’ case wasn’t as bad as NRG’s, as they won their first match against MIBR 2-0 and showed a promising performance against the Brazilian team. In their second match, 100 Thieves had to face last year’s Masters Madrid winner, Sentinels, in a chance to advance to the Upper Quarterfinals, which they failed to deliver and lost 2-1 to Sentinels.
Although 100Thives is an Inch away from elimination, they still can bounce back and redeem themselves by beating NRG in this upcoming match.
Match Prediction
Steaks are high, and one mistake can cost each team a chance to attend Masters Bangcock; each move and each step is calculated in this match, but at the end, only one winner can come to the top, which is likely 100 Thieves since they more structured team and more calibrated then NRG.
One thing is for sure in this match: both masterminds, IGL FNS and Boostio, are showing off every strategy they have, each being different from the last one. Amazing teams, amazing players, and intense results. Stay tuned to witness this awesome match on January 24th at 5 PM PST.
