M80 has recently made an exciting addition to their team by signing 19-year-old talent Mason ‘Lake’ Sanderson. This move comes as a response to the departure of Mario ‘malbsMd’ Samayoa to G2.
‘Lake’ is a mysterious presence on the international scene, having participated in 172 maps on HLTV over a span of 17 months. Surprisingly, ‘Lake’ has only competed in two North American LAN events: Fragicago 2023 and the lesser-known Launders LAN 2024.
He has been catching attention in the domestic scene since joining Carpe Diem in January. He has impressed with a 1.13 rating, 1.32 impact rating, and 85.2 ADR over 51 maps. He has also attempted a number of opening duels similar to ‘malbsMd’ in the ESL Challenger League.
M80 has the chance to develop new talent by utilizing the overlap in roles and the potential of the 19-year-old rather than seeking transfers from other organizations. This will also help maintain the team’s majority Americas roster status for the Shanghai Major RMR.
‘Lake’ has a daunting task ahead as he makes his debut for M80 against Vitality at the Esports World Cup on July 17.
