GRID Esports has just announced that the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 LAN portion will be held in Berlin.The event is scheduled for November 2-3, showcasing a substantial $850,000 prize pool.
In the first stage, 16 teams will compete online from October 21-26. The teams will face off in a single-elimination format with best-of-three matches to determine the four teams that will advance to the LAN finals. The LAN finals will also follow the same format, including a match to decide the third-place team.
So far, six squads have secured their spots in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024. These teams include Cloud9 and BLEED from Europe’s qualifiers, Legacy and M80 from North America’s qualifiers, and BESTIA and Imperial from South America’s qualifiers. Ten more invited teams will join them, the first four of which are Falcons, HEROIC, Fnatic, and BIG.
The Thunderpick World Championship is set to have its second edition in 2024. Last year, FaZe fought through the online tournament to emerge as the champions, clinching the coveted title and the top prize of $250,000. This year, the prize pool has been doubled, with a staggering $500,000 reserved for the ultimate winner.
