Imperial Esports, a Brazilian organization, has moved Felipe “skullz” Medeiros to the bench after only six months in their active Counter-Strike 2 lineup.
The team made this decision while rethinking its roster following inconsistent results and limited international success.
Performance Struggles
The 23-year-old rifler joined Imperial with expectations of regaining the form he previously showed with paiN Gaming, where he posted a strong 1.16 rating. However, he was unable to replicate that level of performance during his stint with Imperial.
While in the starting lineup, skullz had a 1.01 rating over 110 maps. This was lower than expected and below the impact he made earlier in his career.
Imperial made it to Stage 3 at StarLadder Budapest Major but could not get consistent results in regional competitions. This kept them from qualifying for more top-tier events, and the lack of progress led to roster changes.
What’s Next for skullz?

Now that skullz is on the bench, it is unclear what he will do next. Even with recent struggles, he is still known for his strong mechanical skills and past high-level play, so he could be a good pick for teams looking to rebuild.
For Imperial, the next few weeks will show if these roster changes can help the team compete consistently in international CS2 events.
