Team Spirit will have troubles at IEM Rio and PGL Astana because the squad will be without its coach, Sergey “hally” Shvaev. This is a big blow for the Russian CS2 team and it could have an effect on their performance.
Hally Won’t be With Team Spirit at IEM Rio and PGL Astana
In an official statement from Team Spirit, the team explained that hally won’t be helping the squad at the upcoming tournament. It seems like he has some kind of health problems and the team decided to step down. According to Spirit, the idea is for him to “come back healthy and charged up for iEM Cologne”.
Instead of hally, CS2 fans will see Dmitry “S0F1k” Forostyanko, a 31-year-old CS2 coach. He previously worked with the likes of Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia and a few other big names, but eventually moved to Team Spirit’s main team in July 2023.
Team Spirit’s Recent Results and Upcoming Tournaments
Team Spirit’s most recent event was BLAST Open Rotterdam, but it failed to impress. Most people were expecting the squad to reach the playoffs, but instead PARIVISION and The MongolZ defeated Spirit and eliminated the latter.
Following the disappointing result, Spirit will attend IEM Rio, which will be held between April 13 and 19. After that, the squad will have to play at PGL Astana, from May 9 to 17. Overall, the team has an exciting series ahead of it and fans will be looking forward to seeing it in action.
As for hally, we hope to see him back in action soon. Team Spirit did not reveal anything specific about his health, so we hope that everything will be okay. Here is Team Spirit’s roster for the upcoming CS2 tournaments:
- Danil “donk” Kryshkovets
- Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov
- Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich
- Boris “magixx” Vorobiev
- Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia
- Dmitry “ S0Ft1k” Forostyanko
