Natus Vincere Defeated GamerLegion to Win IEM Atlanta 2026
The Grand Final between the two CS2 powerhouses gave us everything we wanted to see. To be fair, some people saw the result coming, especially after Na’Vi defeated Vitality in the quarter-finals. Vitality have had an edge over their opponents for years, but Na’Vi finally got the momentum on their side and secured a key victory.
GamerLegion, on the other hand, impressed everyone with its young team. Despite lacking experience, the squad proved it could beat the big names and deserved to reach the final.
Once it was them for the final match of IEM Atlanta 2026; however, there was only one team. Natus Vincere had little to no problems in all 3 maps as they ripped through their opponents. Everyone was having their game, but Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov was one step above the rest once again. He and Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen were the stars of the show and gave their team a clean victory.
It all started on Mirage, where the match was entirely one-sided. Na’Vi did not give their opponents any chances and quickly moved to Anubis. Even though the second map was definitely better for GamerLegion, the team failed to defeat their opponents. Slowly but steadily, Natus Vincere started outplaying its opponents and eventually secured the map.
The last map between Na’VI and the IEM Atlanta 2026 trophy was Nuke. Things actually started badly for the Ukrainians as their opponent secured a 4-0 lead early on. Fortunately, Na’Vi did not give up and eventually bounced back in the series. The team had the momentum on their side, and in the end, Na’Vi won.
W0nderful Claimed his First-Ever MVP
Outside of Na’Vi winning, IEM Atlanta 2026 was also special for one of their starting players – w0ndeful. Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdnov, once the 11th best player, earned his first-ever MVP award for his performance. His average rating of 1.31 in over 16 maps was really impressive, and he definitely deserved the prize.
Those of you who followed IEM Atlanta know that he was the main reason why Na’Vi defeated Vitality. In fact, even when the Ukrainians lost against Legacy in the group, he was still miles ahead of the competition.
All in all, w0nderful impressed by everyone with his performance and we can’t wait to see what else he has to offer in 2026.
What’s Next for Na’Vi?
After winning IEM Atlanta 2026, Na’Vi is slowly preparing for the next big challenge – the IEM Cologne Major. This will be one of the most interesting CS2 tournaments so far because outside of Na’Vi, you also have Vitality, Spirit, FURIA, and Falcons, and all of them are in excellent form.
Vitality looked like they were in a league of their own until a few days ago, but that is no longer the case. There are multiple teams that can defeat them, so we can’t wait to see what’s next. Make sure to follow us for more information.
