PGL Will Host a CS2 Event in Lodz in March 2027

Originally, PGL was supposed to host a CS2 tournament in Krakow, but it did not take place. Instead, PGL will actually host a tournament in the country, but it will take place in the city of Lodz.

PGL to Host an Event in Lodz in March 2027

Based on the information we have, the tournament will take place between March 18 and 28 in Lodz, Poland. People who want to attend it will need to get tickets for the Atlas Arena, which can host up to 15,000 people.

Assuming the competition takes place, the Romanian tournament organizers will be back in Poland for the first time in a decade. In fact, the last tournament that took place was the PGL Major Krakow 2017. There was supposed to be another event hosted by PGL there, but it failed, which is why the organization decided to focus on Lodz.

Besides the tournament’s location, PGL also revealed additional information, including the changes to the Integrity and Conduct rules. The changes here basically punish teams that decide to withdraw from the competition after accepting the invitation. Assuming that happens, the team that breaks the rules will be disqualified from receiving a direct VRS invitation.

Regarding the participants, 16 teams will attend the new PGL competition. 14 of them will receive a direct invitation from the Global VRS on December 7. The other two, however, will have to take part in the European qualifier. This makes the tournament different from the rest, where people can usually find qualifiers in regions like South/North America and Asia.

PGL Lodz – The European Qualifier & Prize Pool

The European qualifier will be split into two parts – Open and Closed qualifiers. There will be six invited teams there from the European VCRS and once the two best enter the main events, they will be competing for a $1M prize pool. Here’s what the distribution looks like:

    • 1st place – $180,000 + $100,000 club share
    • 2nd place – $80,000 + $75,000 club share
    • 3rd place – $50,000 + $65,000 club share
    • 4th place – $40,000 + $50,000 club share
    • 5th-8th place – $25,000 + $39,000 club share
    • 9th-11th – $10,000 + $18,000 club share
    • 12th-14th – $5000
    • 15th-16th – $2500

As you can see, there is an additional $300,000 that will be distributed among the top 5 ranked teams attending the competition. All in all, PGL Lodz is promising to be a very interesting competition. We will make sure to share more details about the event once it is out, so follow us regularly.
