With PGL Astana 2026 and IEM Atlanta 2026 just wrapping up, another big CS2 event is coming soon. The CS Asia Championship 2026 kicks off on May 20 and runs until May 24 in Shanghai.
Sixteen teams are set to battle for the trophy, but this time, several top squads won’t be there. Four of the current top five teams, Team Vitality, Team Spirit, Natus Vincere, and FURIA, are skipping the event. With them out, other teams have a real shot at winning and taking home the prize money.

CS Asia Championship 2026 Favorites

- Team Falcons
Team Falcons are the top favorites going into the tournament. They’re the highest-rated team at the event and are still looking for their first big trophy. Their recent run to the Grand Final at PGL Astana 2026 showed they’re real contenders. With some elite teams missing, this could be their best chance yet to win a championship.
- PARIVISION
PARIVISION proved their potential earlier this year by winning BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 1. They’ve stayed competitive all season and come into this event with confidence, experience, and a real shot at another trophy.
- The MongolZ
The MongolZ have consistently been one of the strongest teams outside the elite tier. Although they have not won a major event recently, they regularly challenge top opponents and now have a huge chance to turn strong performances into a title victory.
- MOUZ
MOUZ remains one of the most stable and experienced teams in the tournament. They’re still chasing a trophy this season, but they often reach the late stages of events and are likely to make another deep playoff run here.
Dark Horses
- Legacy
Legacy comes in with momentum after making the playoffs at IEM Atlanta 2026. Their big win over Natus Vincere in the group stage showed just how strong this roster can be when things go right.
- paiN Gaming
paiN Gaming also made a strong impression at IEM Atlanta 2026, reaching the playoffs against tough opponents. Their aggressive play and confidence make them one of the most dangerous teams for upsets at this event.
- B8
B8 has shown moments of strong play this year, though consistency is still a challenge. With fewer elite teams at this event, they have a real chance to surprise stronger opponents and go further than expected.
Underdogs
- Team Liquid
Even with plenty of experience and star players, Team Liquid still struggles with consistency. They’ve underperformed for a while, so it’s hard to see them as real contenders until they show clear improvement.
- BC.Game Esports
BC.Game features big names such as Oleksandr ‘s1mple‘ Kostyliev and Denis ‘electroNic‘ Sharipov, but the roster still struggles to deliver results against stronger opposition. While the individual talent is there, the team has yet to find consistency.
Remaining Teams
Teams like MIBR, NRG, 3DMAX, TYLOO, M80, Lynn Vision Gaming, and Ninjas in Pyjamas are still trying to prove themselves on bigger stages. Even as outsiders, events like this can give them a chance for surprise playoff runs and breakout moments.
