FACEIT is bringing Cache back for Season 8, which begins April 22, after the map won the platform’s community vote with 148,840 votes. Cache matches will count toward Elo, but players who don’t want to queue it can deselect Cache without needing a subscription or changing other map bans.

FACEIT confirmed Cache’s return ahead of Season 8 after a close community vote. The map will be available in the matchmaking pool on launch day, and results on Cache will impact Elo the same way as other active-duty picks—unless you remove it from your selected maps.

Other maps in the FACEIT Season 8 matchmaking pool

Outside of Cache, FACEIT provides a lot of other competitive maps. Currently, players can use the following:

    • Dust 2
    • Nuke
    • Mirage
    • Inferno
    • Ancient
    • Anubis
    • Vertigo

Each of the maps offers unique play styles, and people have the chance to choose the ones they are most comfortable with. The fact that players can customize their matchmaking gives them more flexibility.

What changes in FACEIT Season 8 (FACEIT Rating, soft Elo reset, Premium tools)

Aside from the fact that players will have access to Cache, FACEIT’s Season 8 will come with a lot of new things. For starters, there will be a completely new stat called FACEIT Rating and it will be added to every match. Aside from just counting kills, the stat will show you how much your actions impacted winning rounds. The idea is to have a deeper insight into performance.

In addition, there will be a soft elo reset, meaning users must play 10 placement matches to determine their starting elo. Premium users will also have access to a new analysis tool showing round-by-round breakdowns. It will include things like utility usage, kill locations and different performance graphs.

Season 8 of FACEIT will also formalize a more structured season system. Players can also expect the FACEIT League to continue with regional divisions, playoffs and prize pools. All in all, it is definitely one of the more interesting updates and at Blix.gg can’t wait to see everything new
