Aurora fans will be sad to hear that their favorite team won’t be able to attend the CS Asia Championship due to visa issues. As a result, the tournament’s organizers invited Ninjas in Pajamas.
NiP to Take Aurora’s Place at CS Asia Championship 2026
As it became clear from Perfect World’s announcement, Ninjas in Pajamas will be stepping in to replace the Turkish CS2 powerhouse. NiP received an invitation due to its current position on the February Valve Regional Standings.
There is no arguing that the surprising invite is a blessing for the newly formed Danish squad. Before it became clear that NiP would take Aurora’s spot, the team was only going to take part in the Stake Ranked Episode 2 before the season came to an end. The current situation gives NiP an additional opportunity to test its luck against some of the best CS2 teams in the world.
The team would have played in various smaller events, which would place it even lower in the rankings, since the others would have more tournaments on their schedule.
CS Asia Championship 2026 Overview
When it comes down to the CS Asia Championship, we will see some of the world’s best CS2 teams competing for a $1M reward. The event will take place from May 20 to 24 in Shanghai, China.
Those of you wishing to watch the games will see a total of 16 teams. They will be divided into two big groups of 8 teams, where the winners, runners-up and the 3rd-placed teams will advance to the Playoffs. Once we get there, there will be a single-elimination bracket with Bo3 matches and a Bo5 Grand Final.
