Tomas “oskar” Stasny, one of the most popular Czech CS2 players, decided to retire and focus on coaching. It seems like this will be the next chapter in his career.
Oskar Retires from Professional CS2
After it became clear that oskar will no longer compete in professional CS2, the player shared more about the situation on X. According to him, he is proud of everything he achieved and reached a point where he no longer has the energy and motivation to keep playing. As a result, he plans to transition into coaching and will use his 20 years of experience to help others.
But who is oskar exactly? Well, he is a professional CS2 player whose career began in 2006. Over the years, he has been on countless top-tier Counter-Strike 2teams, especially in CS:GO. Once Counter-Strike 2 arrived, the player was competing for Inner Circle Esports, ALGO Esports and Fingers Crossed. He spent only about a month with the latter before departing in late February.
Over the years, oskar received different rewards, including two MVPs. He was also ranked the 6th best player in the world in 2018. Aside from being a big name on the international stage, oscar was also among the best domestically. In fact, he is the first Czech player to go on a trend at a Valve Major after his team took part in the PGL Major Kraków 2027 – Offline Qualifier.
The Future for Oskar
Now that the player is no longer active, he will be looking to get his first job as a coach. There is a good chance he won’t have to wait long for it because there are many CS2 teams looking for experienced coaches like him.
Aside from being willing to be a head coach, the ex-player will also be looking for opportunities as an assistant coach or even an analyst.
