The PGL Wallachia Season 4 is over, so Dota 2 fans have to focus on the next big tournament in line – BLAST Slam III. Starting in just a couple of days from now, BLAST’s third Dota 2 tournament will definitely be an event to remember. We expect an epic battle between the world’s best Dota 2 teams, so let’s learn more about the competition.

    Overview

    https://twitter.com/BLASTtv/status/1915791365125898293

This Dota 2 tournament is a part of the BLAST Slam series, which is organized by BLAST. Most people associate this company with Counter-Strike, but it has decided to expand its services into Dota 2 as well.

BLAST Slam III is an event that will include 10 Dota 2 teams. The competition will take place between May 5 and May 11, and the teams will play for a $1M reward.

    Format

When it comes to the format, BLAST Slam III will have a Group Stage and Playoffs. Even though there will be only 10 teams at this competition, we will have two groups of 5 teams each. They will compete in a Bo1 round-robin format.

What’s interesting is that none of the Dota 2 teams will be eliminated following the Group Stage. The team that finishes first will go to the Semifinals, whereas the second-placed team will advance to the Quarterfinals. The team that finishes third goes to Round 2, whereas the last two squads advance to Round 1.

For the playoffs, there will be a single-elimination bracket with a Bo3 series and a Bo5 Grand Final. In other words, the format here is very different from that of PGL Wallachia Season 4.

    Teams & Favorites

Unlike some of the other Dota 2 tournaments, BLAST Slam 3 will only consist of 10 teams. Here are all of the names you should be aware of:

    • Tundra Esports
    • Team Falcons
    • PARIVISION
    • Team Liquid
    • Team Spirit
    • Xtreme Gaming
    • Team Tidebound
    • Aurora Gaming
    • Gaimin Gladiators
    • BetBoomTeam

The lineup consists of an interesting mixture of world-class teams, and it is safe to say that each one can win. With that said, some of the squad are in a better position to take the trophy and a large chunk of the prize pool, so let’s go through each one.

    Team Liquid

After Nisha came back to play for Team Liquid, the latter proved why they are one of the best teams in the world. Liquid took advantage of the current meta and won the PGL Wallachia Season 4 after a series of epic results. Considering that BLAST Slam 3 will be on the same meta, we expect Liquid to keep its winning streak and perform really well.

With that said, the Western European powerhouse made some mistakes along the way and lost two series. Even though it is not unbeatable, the team has a solid understanding of the current meta and how everything works.

    PARIVISION

If there’s one Dota 2 team that has been on another level in the last couple of weeks, it has to be PARIVISION. The Eastern Europeans won the ESL One Raleigh 2025 and reached the Grand Final of the PGL Wallachia Season 4 without losing a single series. Sadly, the team was unable to defeat Team Liquid and lost the most important match.

Assuming that Valve does not change anything in the current meta, PARIVISION will remain one of the big favorites for BLAST Slam 3. It is safe to say the squad has a solid understanding of how everything works, so we can’t wait to see it in action again.

    Tundra Esports

Despite not reaching the Grand Finals of the PGL Wallachia Season 4, this was another event where the squad lived up to expectations. Tundra continues to impress us with consistent results, and we believe it will be among the favorites for BLAST Slam III. Bzm and the rest eliminated many big names in the last Dota 2 event but failed to defeat Liquid.

    Team Spirit

The last of the Blast Slam 3 favorites that we believe has an excellent chance of winning the event is Team Spirit. If we have to be honest, the squad’s result at the last big tournament was underwhelming. Spirit lost the match against Team Liquid in the Upper Bracket and then lost another series against Team Tidebound in the LB. Despite that, Yatoro and the rest have proven many times that they can win any event.

    Conclusion

BLAST Slam III will begin in just a week from now, so make sure to follow Blix.gg for more information. Aside from watching the best Dota 2 teams in action, the event will also offer you the chance to wager on them. All top-tier Dota 2 betting platforms will have some kinds of options for it, so don’t forget to check them out.
