G2 Esports have announced that Jan “Swani” Müller has officially signed as the team’s head coach after six months as an interim head coach.
The German-based organization moved Swani to the interim coach position at the end of October following Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam’s departure from G2. This would mark Swani’s highest-profile position within G2 as he previously worked as an analyst and assistant coach after joining G2 in 2019. Additionally, Swani briefly served as the interim coach following the departure of Damien ‘maLeK’ Marcel in late 2021.
During his most recent tenure as interim coach, Swani helped G2 to two prestigious trophies, BLAST Premier World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023, as well as helping the team qualify to the BLAST.tv Paris Major. With these achievements, G2 were seemingly keen on giving the German the permanent call up.
