G2 Esports star player Nikola “NiKo” KovaÄ has announced he will stay in G2 Esports’ Counter-Strike roster despite rumors of a transfer to Team Falcons. Earlier, according to insider Guillaume “neL” Canelo, the Saudi Arabian esports organization paid the buyout clause of the Bosnian player “a sum measured in millions”.
However, later neL disavowed his own insider information. He said that NiKo decided to stay in G2 because he wants to continue performing in the same squad with Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.
Later NiKo himself and G2 informed the player to stay with the organization. G2 released a humorous video about this.
It remains unclear what steps Falcons will take now. On November 5, they benched four of their five players ‘ Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro, LaurenÈiu “lauNX” Èârlea and MiÅosz “mhL” Knasiak. The Saudis currently have only Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen in their starting lineup. While Falcons are still seemingly set to acquire the likes of Emil “Magisk” Reif and Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, it is unknown how the loss of NiKo will affect their plans.
G2 consists of:
- Nemanja “huNter-” KovaÄ
- Nikola “NiKo” KovaÄ
- Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
- Justin “jks” Savage
- Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen (In-game leader)
- Jan “Swani” Müller (Coach)
